Before you buy
Buying a used car? Let us check it over first. We inspect the engine, brakes, suspension, tyres and body, take it for a road test, and give you a plain-English report so you know exactly what you're buying.
What's included
Every inspection covers the areas below. It's a visual and road-test check, so it can't see inside sealed components, but it catches the problems that matter most before you hand over money.
Optional extras
For higher-risk purchases, add one or more of these tests. Call or text 022 095 0555 for a quote.
Reads stored electrical faults, past issues, internal engine problems and misfires. Our standard scan is $60 +GST.
Compares each cylinder's compression against the strongest one to spot a tired engine.
Checks the coolant for exhaust gas, a telltale sign of a leaking head gasket and overheating.
Checks remaining battery capacity, related fault codes and any imbalance between cells.
Common questions
Pricing depends on the vehicle and any optional extra tests, so call or text 022 095 0555 for a quote. We'll confirm the price before we start.
We check the engine and fluids, the 12V battery and charging, exterior and interior condition, the front and rear undercarriage (brakes, suspension, steering), the tyres, and we finish with a road test. You get a plain-English report of what we find.
Optional extra tests are available on request, including a diagnostic scan for stored fault codes and further checks such as a compression test, a combustion-gas (head gasket) test and a hybrid battery health test. Ask us which suit the car you're buying.
Yes. A used car can look great and still hide worn brakes, leaks, tyre problems or an engine issue. An independent inspection helps you decide whether to buy, negotiate the price or walk away.
