Brakes & Safety in Wiri, Auckland

Brakes are the one system on your car you don't get a second chance with. We inspect and service pads, rotors and fluid to the same standard your WOF inspection checks against.

What's included

Quoted after inspection

Brake pads and rotors wear gradually, which makes it easy to miss the point where they need replacing until something starts squealing, grinding, or the pedal feels different. We check pad thickness, rotor condition and brake fluid quality as part of every service, and can do a dedicated brake inspection any time you're not sure.

Old brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and can affect braking performance under hard use — we check fluid condition and recommend a flush on the interval that suits your driving.

This is also the work that gets a car WOF-ready — if your brakes are the reason a WOF didn't pass, we can usually turn it around the same visit.

Common questions

Straight answers,
no fine print.

How do I know if my brake pads need replacing?

Squealing when braking, a grinding sound, or the pedal feeling softer or lower than usual are the common signs. We check pad thickness at every service too.

How often should brake fluid be changed?

Most manufacturers recommend every 2 years regardless of mileage, since brake fluid absorbs moisture over time even if the car isn't driven much.

Will fixing my brakes help pass a WOF?

Yes — brakes are one of the most common WOF failure points, and it's exactly the standard we inspect to.

Can I get my brakes done same-day?

In most cases yes, if parts are in stock. Call ahead with your make and model and we'll confirm.
